Who is the 'senior citizen' on the Stratford Brakettes 2021 roster? It takes a little time before picking center fielder Val Suto, who is entering her seventh year on the club. In that time, she has developed into one of the finest outfielders and defensive players to wear the uniform. Although she has shown flashes of power in recent years, 338 of her career hits have been singles. An accomplished slapper, Val has destroyed numerous defensive overloads by swinging away. Her long strides and blazing speed are almost impossible to stop as well as her base-stealing ability. In six years, she has only been thrown out four times in 122 attempts, the all-time mark in Brakettes history. The Seton Hall graduate ranks ninth all-time with 296 runs and 19th in career hits with 366. Suto is a three-time WMS All-America and two-time batting champion, who boasts a .476 career average.
